In CNC milling, up to 5-axis machines can be programmed via a machine control. The axes are controlled individually or simultaneously with feeds. The travel distances are determined by glass measuring strips. CNC milling machines run with feeds of up to 60 m / min and speeds of 100,000 rpm, but the values are usually significantly lower. The tools are stored in a tool changing magazine, automatically called when necessary and used by a tool changer. The CNC technology allows 3D milling to create more complex 3D contours. Often the workpiece is traversed in many small adjacent lines.
